A Michael Jackson Musical Is in Development

A musical based on Michael Jackson is in development, and it’s on track to make a Broadway premiere in 2020.

There aren’t many details . . . but it’s probably safe to assume that the production will focus on his music career, not the child sex abuse allegations.  Especially since his estate is involved.

His music WILL be included . . . but there isn’t any confirmation on what songs they’re using, or how they’ll be used.

Fran Drescher Is Threatening to Bring Back “The Nanny”

There’s a lot of annoying stuff happening in the world these days, and Fran Drescher apparently thinks we can tolerate MORE, because she’s threatening to bring back “The Nanny”.

She’s been talking about it for a while now, but in a new interview with “Entertainment Tonight”, she hinted that she’ll have some “big news” to reveal soon.

Cam Newton Lost His Cool at Some Hecklers at a High School Camp

Cam Newton lost his cool at some hecklers . . . during a HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL CAMP in Florida.  And, of course, someone got video.

To be fair, the kids weren’t exactly respectful.  One of them said “Can I get a fumble?”, and another kid asked, “What happened in the Super Bowl?”

Those were references to the 2016 Super Bowl, which the Carolina Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos.  Cam was sacked six times and fumbled twice during that game.  One kid even asked him if he wished Broncos defender Von Miller a happy Father’s Day, which is a pretty sick burn.

“Black Panther” cleaned up at the “MTV Movie & TV Awards”

“MTV Movie & TV Awards” aired last night, and “Black Panther” cleaned up.  It won Best Movie, and Chadwick Boseman took home TWO individual awards, for Best Hero and Best Performance in a Movie.

Michael B. Jordan picked up the award for Best Villain.

Other winners included “It” for Best Onscreen Team, Millie Bobby Brown from “Stranger Things” for Best Performance in a Show, and Gal Gadot in “Wonder Woman” for Best Fight Scene.

Tiffany Haddish, the first black woman to host the show, also won Best Comedic Performance for “Girls’ Trip”.

Rapper XXXTentacion Was Shot Dead in Miami

Rapper XXXTENTACION was shot and killed in Miami yesterday.  He was leaving a motorcycle dealership in his car when two men approached, and at least one of them opened fire.  He was only 20 years old.  His real name was Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy.

The two men fled in an SUV, and there aren’t any suspects yet.  Police believe it may have been a robbery.

XXXTentacion began his rise to fame in 2015, when he uploaded the track “Look At Me!” to SoundCloud.  His album“?” debuted at #1 when it came out this past March.

We’ve already seen permanent tattoos and a whirlwind engagement from Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson.  They even moved in together, got MORE tattoos, and went furniture shopping.

And now we’re into song-naming territory. Ariana has an “interlude” on her upcoming album “Sweetener”, and she has decided to name it “Pete”.

When one of her followers got on her case for doing that, she replied, “The truth is I been the [eff] thru it and life’s too short to be cryptic n [stuff] about something as beautiful as this love I’m in.  So Pete it is.”

Roseanne Spinoff One Step Closer to Happening

Never in a million years did I believe that a “Roseanne” spin-off without ROSEANNE BARR would actually happen.  But now it looks like it definitely could.

The “Hollywood Reporter” says Roseanne has agreed to give up any monetary rights to the new series and walk away.

If the show DOES happen, it will reportedly focus on Roseanne’s daughter Darlene, played by SARA GILBERT . . . with pretty much the entire cast coming back, too.  (Hollywood Reporter)

Nick Cannon, who’s worked with Pete Davidson on Wild ‘N Out, was one of the first to know about Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande’s engagement.

Nick Said Davidson called him asking if he should do it. Nick supported him and told him to do what he felt was right.

Cannon even offered to officiate their wedding.

“I’ll officiate. I don’t know how long they’ll last if you let me do it, but I’m up for it,” he jokingly said.
